Digital Art
Most of the art I do is digital. I'm a self taught artist and I've been doing artwork for several years now. Most of the artwork I do is geared toward game art, and more specifically I tend to work toward realistic type rendering rather than cartoony or significantly stylized. For game art I like the challenge of getting things to look realistic and render in real-time. There are many interesting tricks and techniques you can use to achieve this. Some of these are similar to in conventional painting and you learn a lot about lighting and how the eye sees the world - how it indentifies form and surface.
I've worked on a few small games as well as mods and indie projects. I also have a store on the3dstudio which I use to sell some artwork.
I do most of my mesh manipulation and unwrapping in a small program called Wings3d. This is a fast and dedicated little program that makes the job much easier. For anything that needs rigging or setting up for export I use 3d Studio Max. This is almost always essential in games for complex assets.
I draw my textures in Adobe Photoshop and for any other maps that need to be created I use a combination of sculpts made in ZBrush, xNormal and Crazybump.
Through browing the site you should be able to see various examples of my work, but here are links to me demo reels.
I'm currently avaliable for contract work or comissions.
